what's up Dad! here's your cheat sheet for postpartum

What is postpartum?

Postpartum is the recovery period following childbirth. It's different for every woman, but it can be extremely difficult for moms both physically and mentally. Symptoms can last days, weeks, months or years.

It can be hard for a mom to understand what she's going through because it's unlike anything else.

If your wife breaks out crying during postpartum and you ask why, she might say "I don't know" and it's the truth! It's likely a combination of hormonal and emotional swings, along with pain and discomfort.

These are the most common symptoms. Click here for more details on each one.

perineum pain

How you can be her hero

make sure she has a numa kit! we designed it to alleviate her postpartum symptoms

Ask her how she’s feeling - it’s easy to focus on your cute new baby

Make sure she's taking time for herself to eat, shower, be by herself in a quiet place

surprise her with a new comfy robe and slippers for night time feedings

Offer to take the baby so she can nap

Make sure she drinks enough water - keep her numa water bottle full

Make sure she eats enough, breastfeeding burns a lot of calories

Buy a peri bottle for each bathroom

Do laundry, OR buy more tank tops and undies :)

Try to let her nap whenever possible

Stock the beer fridge - hey you've got to keep up your mental health too!

Mentally prepare to wash a lot of bottles. So many bottles.

Volunteer to change the lion’s share of the diapers

Keep a fresh stock of burp cloths

Stock up on her favorite snacks

around 6 weeks post birth, it's common for her to experience baby blues or depression, so watch her mood and ask how's she's feeling
